Chick-fil-A Washington Road is excited to add to our leadership team the position of Kitchen Director. This position exists to steward our business to the next level as it pertains to the function of the kitchen. The potential candidate must make it their personal mission to positively and directly affect the growth of our kitchen team by use of the Chick-Fil-A SERVE leadership model. The Kitchen Director is expected to contribute to our culture of growth and ultimately preserve the Chick-fil-A service model, and uphold our quality standards.
The Kitchen Director is the driver of all operations and deliverables for the Kitchen – ensuring food safety, quality, food and labor costs, and truck orders. The Director oversees team members, junior leaders, team leaders, and assistant directors. The Director is also responsible for leading, coaching, and directing everyone in the building whenever possible, including but not limited to, holding the team accountable to brand standards.

Specific Duties

Ensure procedures and policies for Food Safety are strictly enforced
Accountability for labor, inventory and food costs within the restaurant
Support talent director in ensuring team members are on-boarded smoothly, feel comfortably integrated in our team, and assist in filling any gaps in the training process for any team member
Ensure position set-ups are complete prior to beginning of shifts, also ensuring aces are in places and all needed coverage is present while also communicating with Directors and Leaders regarding any scheduling gaps needing to be filled
Ensure there is good communication of relevant information (example: catering orders) to necessary parts of the business
Ensure best-in-the-industry safety and security standards, including but not limited to keeping locked doors closed, ensuring team members practice safety-in-numbers when applicable, proper handling procedures of hot oil and cutlery
Work closely with the Director team to ensure peak guest experience
Coach behaviors of all Leaders and team members who work in your area of responsibility
Maintain a clean and organized workplace throughout your area of responsibility
Coach, evaluate, and provide feedback (both by use of team member disciplinary policy and without it) to your team on a daily basis
Consistent and deliberate development of team members in collaboration with Talent Director

Education and Experience:

5+ years of experience in coaching and team leading
5+ years of team development
No Kitchen experience required
Bachelor’s degree preferred
